Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been constantly in the news throughout the last year due to their very public divorce. The former couple went their separate ways last summer. However, the divorce was only finalized earlier in January.

While J.Lo has been vocal about her struggles post-divorce, Affleck’s troubles with it have made the news as well. Nonetheless, it seems as though those days are in the past, as an insider revealed that the pair have steadily been growing closer again over the last couple of months.
The divorce has seemingly worked in their favor after all. If anything, both seem committed to continuing their post-split relationship for the long haul.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck rekindled their 2000s romance in 2021. Unlike their previous go at it, this time they got married in 2022. Unfortunately, their problems were far from over, as their bond deteriorated again and culminated in a divorce that was finalized in January 2025.

Jennifer Lopez has previously opened up about how hard the split had been for her. Thankfully, she’d been able to find strength in her family throughout the bad days. Interestingly, Kim Kardashian, too, has reportedly lent her a hand in times of need by hyping her up.
Overall, Lopez has seemingly overcome her heartbreak and is ready to move on to bigger and better things. Interestingly, though, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been steadily meeting throughout the process from time to time.
Be it over exchanging Christmas gifts, or at their kids’ school events. In fact, E! News reported that Lopez was even spotted at the Batman star’s house in January.
As such, rumors about a potential patch-up have also been making rounds. The truth, however, seems to be a little less rosy than that. An insider recently revealed to InTouch that while both stars plan to stay in each others’ lives, their relationship is strictly of friends.
It’s a really hopeful sign that they managed to get through this without hating each other, because they would like to preserve their friendship.
They continued that even after the divorce, both of them care for and respect each other a lot. Furthermore, the insider claimed that they plan to keep their blended family status intact.

Early in their marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have blended their families to the point that their kids have bonded really well. Moreover, both of them have formed strong bonds with each other’s children.

Lopez shares twins with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner. As such, making sure their children don’t suffer from the backlash of their divorce has been the utmost priority to the stars.
It’s also imperative to [Jennifer Lopez] that the kids continue to have a friendship as well. They’re both on the same page which is wonderful.
The insider further claimed finalizing the divorce proceedings have done wonders to their relationship. In fact, by the end of it, both have been impressed by the sensibility and fairness portrayed by the other party.
Ben Affleck has maintained a warm relationship with Garner post-divorce, and has even sought advice from her for his own troubles regarding the split from Lopez. As such, the insider stated, that he believes it is possible for it to happen with The Mother star as well. And Jennifer Lopez, too, is reportedly with a similar mindset.
J. Lo is certainly showing all the signs and actions that she wants the same thing and not just with Ben, she doesn’t want to lose the bond she has with his kids.
It’ll be interesting to see if they can continue their newly amicable relationship in the long run. For now, though, they seem determined to work through it together. The added benefit of the happiness of their children is seemingly making it easier for them to work better as a team.
